Partnership with Management & Capitali
During 2008 SeconTip acquired on the market a 15.04% stake of Management & Capitali (“M&C”) – an investment company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange – becoming its second largest shareholder to develop a joint investment strategy.
In order to capitalize on the investment opportunities currently available on the market, M&C has for some time been extending its own scope of activities in turnarounds industrial conglomerate investments and in underperforming assets in general.
Secontip with Romed (a company headed by Carlo De Benedetti, a major shareholder of M&C with a 16.106% stake) and M&C’s top management have began a strategic partnership so that to exploit their mutual expertise and cash availability.
With this partnership M&C and SeconTip will share each others management capabilities, contacts and know-how in the secondary private equity area and will also collaborate in the turnaround sector and in the underperforming assets, thereby allowing joint investment transactions of greater scale.
